Europe for citizens programme is out

On 15 April, the Council of the European Union unanimously adopted the Regulation setting up the ‘Europe for Citizens’ programme for the period 2014-2020, which was then published in the Official Journal on 24 April.

This programme mainly focuses on a twofold objective: raising awareness of remembrance, common history and values of the EU, on the one hand, and encouraging democratic participation of citizens at EU level, on the other hand (namely through better understanding of the EU policy making-process and more opportunities for societal and intercultural engagement and volunteering at EU level).
