The Council approves new transparency rules on social responsibility for big companies

Under this new regulation, some big EU companies will be required to draw up an annual statement on their policies with regard to environmental, social and employee-related matters, and respect for human rights. In case a company should not pursue policies in relation to these matters, it will have to explain why.

The new measures are aimed at strengthening the company’s transparency and accountability in term of corporate social responsibility.
