Social Innovations Promoting Active and Healthy Ageing – Second INNOVAGE Stakeholder Forum

AGE Platform Europe co-organised and participated in the Second INNOVAGE European Forum on Social Innovations for Healthy and Active Life Expectancy. The event took place in Riga, Latvia on 25 September 2014.

The INNOVAGE project is dedicated to developing and testing, as well as surveying and cataloguing social innovations, which will have a solid impact on improving the quality of life and wellbeing of older people. Our role in the project is to ensure older users’ participation in the development of the innovation and the dissemination of the project’s results. For this reason, eight AGE representatives contributed to the discussion, as well as representatives of the MOPACT, AFE-INNOVNET and HAIVISIO project in which AGE is a partner.

Chaired by Prof Vappu Taipale, the second Forum allowed stakeholders to examine the progress and outputs from the project so far and how the project contributes to the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP AHA). Moreover, the forum was the occasion to highlight some promising social innovations promoting active and healthy ageing as well as the barriers to uptake and upscale them. All the presentations and the report of the Forum will be soon available on INNOVAGE website. You can already have an overview of the topics covered at the meeting in reading the first presentation of the event: Social Innovations Promoting Active and Healthy Ageing.

All presentations, videos of plenary sessions and photos from the INNOVAGE Forum in Riga, Latvia on 25 September are now available online and accessible here.
