‘Mobility Scouts’ engages older people in creating age-friendly environments

Mobility Scouts project logo As ‘experts’ of their own life, older people know best how services and public spaces should be designed and organised to meet their needs. They want their voices be heard, their experiences be acknowledged and their skills be actively used and valued.
For that reason AGE Platform Europe is involved in the Mobility Scouts project (2016-2018) which aims to empower older persons to contribute to the creation of age-friendly environments and services as co-producers involved in the decision making processes. The core idea of Mobility Scouts is to train older men and women to initiate co-production processes and cooperate together with local authorities and service providers in the development of age-friendly environments and services in their own community, village or city.

AGE is part of the Advisory Board of the project and interacts with the consortium to strengthen synergies. For instance, AGE will participate in the next project meeting in Vilnius to present its work on age-friendly environments and reflect on how to support the dissemination effort of the project.

AGE Dutch member organisation het Oudere Vrouwennetwerk (OVN-NL) is one of the five partners of this project.
