The online application for the first European Silver Economy Awards of the SEED project was officially opened on 8th June during the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP AHA) meeting in Valencia.
Representatives from SEED coordinator empirica, AGE Platform Europe and the European Commission inaugurated the launch of the first edition after a short presentation of the award categories and evaluation criteria.
The overall objective of the Silver Economy Awards is to highlight the potential that a growing older population can generate for entrepreneurs, investors, public authorities and civil society through the development of innovative solutions responding to these opportunities.
Therefore the awards will reward products and services which use information and communication technologies (ICT) to improve the quality of life of Europeans aged over 50 in three categories:
- Public authority
- Non-for-profit organisation
- For-profit organisation
All applicants will benefit from online publication on the Silver Economy website and winners and finalists will be invited to showcase their product or service at a high-level Award Ceremony in May 2018. The winning solutions will be further promoted by the European Covenant on Demographic Change, the European Commission and the SEED partners in the media, on websites, in newsletters and through other promotional material.
Online submissions are open from 8 June until 15 November 2017.
