The JamToday network will hold its annual event in Brussels on 11th February 2015 and we would like to invite you to come along for a practical and informative day. The Fair is kindly hosted by the Unioncamere Piemonte.
JamToday is the first pan-European network dedicated to applied game design. It brings together different types of stakeholders (such as creative clusters, game companies, education and research institutes, public sector institutions, municipalities etc.) from various sectors, fields and expertise for running game jams across Europe.
JamToday aims to make it easier to create applied games by providing you with the necessary know-how and expertise and by bringing together the different people who are involved in the process of designing and deploying game-based approaches to learning. In so doing we hope to help to bridge the gap between applied games and their wider fields of application.
Each year Jam Today provides opportunities for you to host or participate in game jams and we have created a simple and practical toolkit that enables you to host your own game jam, with hands-on support from the 25 member organisations of the Jam Today network.
In 2014 our theme has been ‘Improving ICT Skills’ and we will present the outcomes from game jams held in 8 European locations during the year. You will be able to see the prototype games and get direct insight into how the process was organised and managed.
Our theme for 2015 is ‘Adopting Healthier Lifestyles’ and we are keen to get some good ideas for this topic and to encourage more European regions to participate.
We would like to invite you to come along to our annual fair and find out more about developing applied games as an instrument for change across many sectors. You will also be able to play the games that were developed and to vote for your favourites.
The event has five strands and for each strand there will be some short presentations on key topics, some hands-on workshops, demonstrations and exhibitors:
- Strand 1: Applied Games in Practice
- Strand 2: How to Organise a Game Jam
- Strand 3: Games for ICT Skills
- Strand 4: Games for Adopting Healthier Lifestyles
- Strand 5: Games for Learning
Places are limited for this event so if you are interested, please register quickly as they will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
