Following the publication of the Rolling Plan on ICT Standardisation in December 2013, the European Commission organised a high-level Conference in Brussels on 25 March 2014 in order to discuss its further development and implementation.
The Rolling Plan Conference 2014 brought together high-level representatives from the European institutions and representatives of public and private stakeholders with an interest in standardisation in the European Union. It provided participants with details on how to participate in the development of the new version of the Rolling Plan which will be published in December 2014. Four workshops were organised to discuss about the following standardisation topics that are covered by the Rolling Plan:
- Societal challenges: eHealth, Accessibility, Web Accessibility, e-skills and e-Learning, Emergency communications and eCall
- The digital single market: eProcurement, eInvoicing, mobile/card and internet payments, XBRL, Online dispute resolutions;
- Sustainable growth : smart grids and smart metering, smart cities, ICT environmental impact, European Electronic Toll service, Intelligent Transport System;
- Key enablers and Security: Cloud computing, (Open)data, e-Government, electronic identification and trust services, RFID, internet of things; network and information security, ePrivacy.
AGE Platform Europe participated in the conference and will further contribute to the update of the Rolling Plan thanks to the input of its Task Force on Standardisation and its participation in the ICT Multistakeholder Platform on ICT Standardisation.
