In order to give a stronger voice to European cities and better coordinate EU urban policies, the European Commission held the forum ‘CiTIEs: Cities of Tomorrow: Investing in Europe’, in Brussels on 17-18 February 2014.
The objective is to highlight the key role that cities can play in achieving wider EU targets in tackling climate change, unemployment and social exclusion and help develop a more coherent EU urban policy.
The discussions were backed up by an issues paper prepared by the European Commission.
