The European Capital of Innovation Award aims to reward European cities’ most innovative projects to improve the quality of life of their citizens and involve them in the life of the community. 10 cities have been selected for the final stage of the 2017 edition of the Award.
Two of the finalist cities, Nice and Tampere, are members of the European Covenant for Demographic Change. Ahead of the finalists’ selection, AGE Platform Europe sent a letter supporting Nice’s application and its Smart City strategy promoting citizens’ engagement in decisions on healthy ageing.
The winners will be announced on 7 November at the Lisbon Web Summit.
