The European Commission has launched a public consultation, which will be used to collect the views of a broad public in the context of the preparation of the Commission’s policy on equality between women and men after 2015. Civil society organisations and individuals across the European Union are invited to take part in this consultation, which can be accessed following this link.
The deadline for replying is 21st July 2015
The gender dimension being an important issue in our work, in particular with regard to its impact on older women’s employment, pension gap and higher risk of poverty, AGE Secretariat has reponsed to this consultation, stressing the risk of poverty among older women, the remaining challenges to female employment and its impact on the gender pension gap, the importance of the provision of formal care services to older persons and of supporting services for informal carers.
AGE’s response to the consultation can be found here.
