Mapping study on the intergenerational dimension of sport

IntergenerationalDimensionOfSport-report-cover The key objective of this small-scale research study has been to collect knowledge on the intergenerational dimension of sport and identify good practice initiatives in this area. The study also aims to develop knowledge on the main benefits, barriers and facilitators to the intergenerational dimension of sport. The specific focus of the study has been participation in sporting activities for both old and young people, but it also looked at how volunteering, coaching or spectating in sport might contribute to promote the intergenerational dimension of sport. Finally, this study also considers the role of families in promoting participation and encouraging intergenerational transfer.
