Objectives

FAITh - Feeling SAfe to Transact Online In the Third Age - is an Erasmus+ project with the aim to foster digital inclusion of older adults 55+ with low ICT skills by increasing their capacity and confidence using online transactions.

The FAITh partnership will deliver an innovative Peer-to-Peer mentoring programme that builds on the principles of motivation and peer support, while engaging the family/ care environment and building partnerships with the local community service network & the local market.

Within a 24-month period, FAITh will put into scrutiny the proposed innovation in 4 EU Member States that demonstrate very low level of digital performance (Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Portugal), which is anticipated to produce much needed evidence about the digital inclusion needs of older adults 55+ and in turn, concrete results to address them.

Expected results

Based on national and transnational assessment reports and identified good practices, FAITh will deliver:

  • Training of older adults 55+ (peers) as Digital Mentors
  • Engagement and training of professionals from the local community/ market
  • Sensitization of family/ household members and carers
  • Implementation & monitoring of individual mentoring plans

For the mainstreaming and wider implementation of the FAITh results, concrete measures are planned incl. targeted advocacy meetings and presentations, a tutorial webinar and a final conference for stakeholders from all over EU.

AGE involvement

AGE Platform Europe will support the analysis and mapping work from the EU perspective, while also coordinating the mapping of good practices by mobilising their extensive membership network and other grass-root and high-level stakeholders across Europe.

In addition, AGE Platform Europe will be responsible for the delivery of the Digital Mentors tutorial webinar to its members and/or other interested parties towards the end of the project. AGE will also coordinate the organisation of the final conference in Brussels from a policy point of view (to be implemented in cooperation with 50Plus Hellas), while also advocating for the mainstreaming and wider implementation of the FAITh products and results at high policy level across Europe (at EU and national levels).
