After two years of work, the EU-funded Faith project aimed to increase digital inclusion in older age is coming to an end. The findings and training materials were presented during the final event of the project, in which AGE has been involved.

Our world is increasingly digital. Yet, it also precludes a consistent share of its population to benefit from the digital revolution. The persisting digital gap prevents many people, especially the older and most marginalised ones, from enjoying economic, social and cultural rights and from participating to the life in society on an equal foot. To counteract this trend, digitalisation must be shaped involving older persons and must embrace their diverse needs and abilities. Everyone must get access to digital infrastructure and devices.

The Faith project helps bridging that gap and brings older people closer to the digital world, enhancing their capacity to transact online: e-banking, e-shopping and e-governance are now no longer mysterious practices thanks to the project’s materials and trainings available via the online platform in four languages.

The project’s success stories, resources and lessons learnt were disclosed at the Faith final hybrid event on 7th December 2022. Four mentors, coming from Portugal, Greece, Italy and Cyprus explained their takeaways and shared their enthusiasm along the project’s journey, while partners provided insights on their work and the ways forward. The presence of the European Association for Adults Education and of BEUC – the European Consumer Bureau, among others, led to interesting discussion to bring the project’s trainings and philosophy to a higher level.

The presentations and recording of the event will be soon available on the project’s website.

Access the project’s training materials in English, Greek, Italian and Portuguese.
