International Seminar on “Building evidence base for active ageing policies: Active Ageing Index and its potential” – Call for abstracts

UNECE and the European Commission’s DG EMPL are organising an International Seminar on “Building evidence base for active ageing policies: Active Ageing Index and its potential” in Brussels from 16 to 17 April 2015. The Seminar will be dedicated to the studies focusing on how to achieve better outcomes – measured, for instance, by Active Ageing Index (AAI) – through appropriate policies including those that address life course determinants of active and healthy ageing.

The AAI enables to measures in what extend older people are empowered to lead an active life and realise their full potential in terms of employment, participation in social and cultural life and independent living.

The seminar aims to bring together researchers, civil society representatives, policymakers and other stakeholders. It will provide a multidisciplinary forum for those interested in the use of AAI and other research to enhance the knowledge about ageing and older people and lead to the development of better policies. Participation in the event is free of charge and open for all interested in the topic.

The call for papers is open until 15 September 2014
