The European Commission calls for views on mobile healthconsultation on mobile Health

On 10 April, the European Commission launched a consultation on mobile health (also called mHealth), inviting comments on how to enhance the health and wellbeing of Europeans through the use of mobile communication devices, such as mobile phones, tablet computers, patient monitoring devices and other wireless devices.

The European Commission seeks to develop mobile health in order to reduce health cost, empower citizens to manage their own health and wellbeing and focus on prevention more than cure, while at the same time, boosting the economy in that field. The objective of this consultation is to receive the views of regional and national authorities, health professionals, carers and medical associations, consumers and patients, web entrepreneurs and developers, mobile devices manufacturers, insurance agencies, sport and health centres/clubs,… and all interested parties.

The consultation is open until 3 July 2014
