AGE co-signs letter calling for EP support on European Accessibility Act

EqualityForAll logoAs a member of the Equality for All Alliance, a coalition of NGOs campaigning for the adoption of the Horizontal Equal Treatment Directive, AGE has co-signed a letter to be sent to the European Parliament to ask for support on the subject of the European Accessibility Act (EAA).

The legislative proposal promised by the European Commission in 2012 had been postponed with the argument that more preparatory work was needed. Now the impact assessment is completed and a further delay of the proposal is difficult to understand.

The Alliance is convinced that strong binding measures at EU level would support the economic recovery while improving the accessibility of goods and services in the EU single market, making sure that everyone can benefit from and take part in Europe’s growth.
