‘What’s old anyway’ – exhibition with positive images of ageing at the European Economic and Social Committee

The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is hosting a photo exhibition from 23 January until 8 February 2019. The exhibition is the result of a competition organised by the German Ministry for Families, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and showcases positive images of ageing. The exhibition is hosted at the initiative of the EESC member Dr. Renate Heinisch, who represents AGE member BAGSO in the Committee.

The exhibition looks at different aspects of life in old age: being active, living in multiple generations, living in a couple, recalling memories and challenges. Throughout the exhibition, a positive vision on ageing and thereby addresses the negative stereotypes that often prevail when people think of old age.
