Hearings of designated EU Commissioners webstreamed

From 29 September to 7 October 2014, the 27 members of Jean-Claude Juncker's team of commissioners will appear in front of the European Parliament. Each of them will be questioned and evaluated by the MEPs of the EP Committee(s) dealing with his/her respective portofolio. Each hearing, which will last three hours with a total of 45 questions, can be followed live on line: www.elections2014.eu/en/new-commission/hearings/all  (click on the Commissioner’s name to follow his/her hearing).

AGE Platform Europe will closely follow the hearing of some of Commissioner-designate of particular interest to our activities, e.g. Mrs Thyssen in charge of Employment and Social Affairs, but also Mrs Jourova, in charge of Justice, Mr Oettinger for ICT and ageing issues, Mr Moedas for research, Mr Andriukaitis for health issues, Mr Sefcovics for transport issues (accessibility and passengers’ rights), Mr Domborvskis for the social dimension of the European Semester, Mr Katainen for the social and employment dimension of EU 2020, and Mr Timmermans for Fundamental Rights.
