Human Rights in the Era of AI - Europe as international standard setter for Artificial Intelligence

Organised with the support of the Council of Europe, this high-level conference will discuss how to better address the human rights challenges raised by the developement of articifial intelligence (AI). High-level experts will cover the following topics:

• The Impact of AI on Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law – Do we need an internationally harmonised legal framework on AI?
• Expectations towards AI regulation in the Council of Europe and beyond
• Current state of AI regulation in Europe – How can the Council of Europe and the EU build bridges as international standard setters for the regulation of Artificial Intelligence?
