AGE Platform Europe has a new Secretary-General
After 18 years of intense and fruitful work as Head of AGE’s Secretariat, Anne-Sophie Parent will leave her position of Secretary-General in July to take a well-deserved retirement.
Anne-Sophie has been an active witness to the beginnings of the AGE network and a driving force behind its development. Her human qualities, strong commitment and management skills have made her a very much appreciated manager, but above all a unique colleague, particularly attentive to the well-being of her staff. The secretariat and the whole AGE network will never be thankful enough for what Anne-Sophie brought to AGE during her mandate, and for her strong commitment to the rights of older persons in Europe and worldwide.
In her farewell message, Anne-Sophie looks back at her years within AGE and thanks all those who have worked with her over almost two decades.
Anne-Sophie’s position will be taken over by our colleague, Maciej Kucharczyk, who has been working within AGE Secretariat since 2006 as Policy Officer and since 2010 as Policy Director.
We are confident that Maciej's skills and experience will enable AGE to continue to grow and meet the many challenges ahead towards a more inclusive and resilient ageing European society.
