AGE response to the OHCHR consultation on the rights of older people

AGE submitted a written contribution to the consulation launched by the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Righst (OHCHR) upon request by the UN Human Rights Council in order to analyse the state of protection of older people’s rights in law and in practice. AGE’s answer highlighted the state-of-the-art in terms of protection of the human rights of older persons across EU countries and summarized regional trends. Our contribution is based on information gathered by our members and, as far as possible, country-specific information is provided to illustrate the regional situation and respond to the request of the OHCHR for reference to specific legislation, strategies and policies at the national level. Our contribution stressed the additional challenges for older people’s rights due to the ongoing crisis.

AGE’s answer can be found here.
