Following Social Platform’s Annual General Assembly on 5 May, AGE Platform Europe’s Managing Director, Maciej Kucharczyk, was re-elected as Vice-President of the Social Platform and member of a new management committee for the next two years.
Social Platform (AGE Platform Europe is one of its 49 members) is the largest platform of European rights and value-based NGOs working in the social sector. Social Platform’s main aim is to promote social justice, equality and participatory democracy by voicing the concerns of member organisations.
On the same occasion, Jana Hainsworth, Secretary-General of Eurochild, was elected as President of the Social Platform succeediing Heather Roy (Eurodiaconia) who stepped down after serving the maximum term as President.
The Social Platform’s full new Management Committee includes:

- Treasurer: Allan Päll, European Youth Forum

- Member: John Dolan, EASPD – European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities
- Member: Borbala Juhasz, European Women’s Lobby
