France has published its 2014 national reform programme, a document outlining the efforts that France wants to undertake in order to re-establish a fiscal equilibrium and to drive its economy forward. AGE France has immediately released its assessment of the programme.
AGE France commends the awareness of the French government that it is necessary to act quickly towards the re-establishment of public finance and competitiveness. However, AGE France sees an absence of a clear, coherent and precise action plan. At this stage, the pact of responsibility and solidarity, a key measure of the national reform programme, seems incomplete relative to the expectations connected to it. The problems of older people do not seem to be included in the plan.
