The conference, organised at the initiative of Ms Eve Päärendson, Vice-President of the Employers' Group in charge of international relations, will bring together researchers from Japanese universities, European and Japanese businesses, representatives of the European Institutions and European business organisations as well as NGOs.

This conference aims to allow exchanges on the following topics:

-          the influence of an ageing population to economic competitiveness

-          the effects ageing has on employment

-          and the innovation opportunities brought about by aging

The Mission of Japan to the EU is also organising on 15 March (at 19:30 ) a memorial charity concert "Fukko Concert Japan" in Brussels, with Japanese artists.
