European conference on family employment
How to turn the demographic challenge into an opportunity for quality employment in Europe? Is it is realistic objective to imagine 20 million salaried members of the employer family in 2020 thanks to the new technologies (ICT)? Such is the theme of the conference organised by the FEPEM (Fédération des particuliers employeurs de France) in Brussels on 8 February under the chairmanship of Marie-Béatrice Levaux, and the high patronage (and participation) of Employment Commissioner László Andor.
The conference - which is one of the events for implementing EU 2020 strategy on economic, social and digital policies - aims to give strong political impetus for the safeguarding and development of the European social model.
Work will be divided into four round tables on:
(1) the challenges and consequences of population ageing for European societies;
(2) facing up to the ageing population, family jobs, social cohesion factors and job creation;
(3) professionalism through ICT, a base for lasting and quality employment; and
(4) social policies, giving impetus to economic growth in Europe.
