CARDI Data Mining Grant Programme
The Centre for Ageing Research and Development in Ireland (CARDI) is a not for profit organisation developed by leaders from the ageing field across Ireland (North and South) including age focused researchers, academics, statutory, voluntary and community sector representatives with support from The Atlantic Philanthropies.
CARDI announces a new data mining grant programme for new research projects aimed at improving the lives of older people and informing future policy for an ageing population in Ireland, North and South. More specifically, it will seek to support greater use of existing research on ageing issues.
This call is open to individuals, or groups from academic, non-profit, voluntary and community sectors.

Semaine Bleue 2010, France
Chaque année, un appel à concours est lancé pour récompenser les actions et projets en rapport avec le thème retenu pour la Semaine Bleue 2010 (qui se déroulera du 18 au 24 octobre 2010): À tout âge : acteurs, proches et solidaires.
Cet évènement vise à informer et sensibiliser l’opinion publique sur la contribution des retraités à la vie économique, sociale et culturelle, sur les préoccupations et difficultés rencontrées par les personnes âgées, sur les réalisations et projets des associations.
Quel sont les projets éligibles ?
Pour être éligibles, ces projets doivent illustrer le thème de l’année et être réalisés au moins en partie au cours de la Semaine Bleue. Ils mettront en valeur la participation des retraités et des personnes âgées à la vie en société, la diversité de leurs engagements dans les familles, les quartiers, les associations…

First “European Local Authorities Competition on Good Practices on the Support for Migrant Elders’ Initiatives“
The prizes awarded will revolve around
- Local authority initiatives for the mutual integration of elderly persons with a migrant background;

Social experimentations
Selected projects should contribute to developing and testing socially innovative approaches to EU policy priorities in the context of the social OMC such as active inclusion, housing exclusion and homelessness, child poverty and social inclusion of migrants. Particular attention will be paid to projects with a focus on the social inclusion of young
people. The Commission would also welcome innovative projects related to the transition from institutional care to community-based alternatives (deinstitutionalisation) in respect of the elderly, children, persons with disabilities – including persons with mental health problems).

Pilot Project on Preventing Elder Abuse
The aim of this call for proposals is to offer grant funding to one applicant which may involve not-for-profit organisations including public authorities, universities and research centres and civil society/stakeholder organisations. The grant will be awarded for a project that will examine how existing recommendations and charters at national and European level on the rights of older people in need of long-term care and assistance can
be implemented and how this process can be supported. Attention should be paid particularly to vulnerable older persons like those with disabilities.

Cet appel à projets vise à soutenir les initiatives qui contribuent à l’ouverture générale aux personnes handicapées ou dépendantes dans les domaines sports, loisirs et culture et a pour vocation de faciliter la participation réelle de personnes handicapées aux activités culturelles, sportives, artistiques et de loisirs en tant que vecteur d'intégration sociale. Support to PROGRESS participating countries' strategies on health inequalities
The overall objective of the call is to stimulate activities aimed at reducing health inequalities in the EU.
This call for proposals aims at financially supporting/ assisting national and regional authorities of PROGRESS participating countries:- to improve knowledge of health inequalities, including its extent and determinants;
- to develop/ plan strategies to tackle/reduce health inequalities including building capacity (such as developing structures for stakeholders involvement at EU level);
- to monitor the implementation of such strategies;
- and to assess and evaluate such strategies.

ICT Policy Support Programme: the 4th call for Proposals based on the 2010 Work Programme is now open.
A call for proposals has been launched under the 2010 Work Programme of the Information and Communication Technologies Policy Support Programme (ICT PSP) as part of the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (2007 to 2013). The Work Programme 2010 focuses on 6 themes: ICT for a low carbon economy and smart mobility; Digital Libraries; ICT for health and inclusion; Open innovation for future Internet-enabled services in smart cities; ICT for improved public services for citizens and businesses; Multilingual Web.

The overall objective of the CSF, of which this Call for Proposals forms part, is to strengthen civil society within a participative democracy, stimulating a civil society friendly ‘environment’ and culture.
The specific objectives of this Call for Proposals are to encourage the development of sustainable partnerships and networks among organisations in order to contribute to increased involvement and ownership among CSOs as well as citizens.
The programme indeed aims to develop a strong regional partnership dialogue between CSOs from the region itself and with their EU counterparts and public authorities as well as to enhance the transparency and the accountability of CSOs. In particular, the project should favour the following aspects:

a professionally operating civil society sector,

Improvement of gender mainstreaming in national policies and programmes
This call for proposals aims to support the national actors to improve gender mainstreaming into national policies and programmes of the EU Member States of the European Union. The initiatives financed will support the mainstreaming of European equality objectives in national policies.Given that 2010 is the European Year to Combat Poverty and Social Exclusion, the Commission encourages the submission of projects that focus on the development of gender mainstreaming tools in the context of policies targeting disadvantaged groups including ethnic minorities such as the Roma.

Information and training measures for workers' organisations
Objectives of this call include measures addressing modernisation of the labour market, quality of work, anticipation, preparation and management of change, flexicurity, mobilty and migration, youth employment, contributions to the health and safety strategy, reconciliation of work and family life, gender equality, action in the field of anti-discrimination, active ageing, active inclusion and decent work.
Measures which will contribute to addressing the employment and social dimensions of EU priorities relating to the response to the current economic crisis, tackling climate change and preparing the EU 2020 Strategy to follow up the Lisbon Strategy, will be particularly welcome.
Measures to support workers' organisations' initiatives related to the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion (2010) can also be supported. These could address issues such as the working poor, precarious jobs, segmentation of the labour market, inclusive labour markets, etc..
