• Follow-up to the Second World Assembly on Ageing - Report of the Secretary-General

July 2009 - The present report is submitted in response to General Assembly resolution 63/151. The main focus of the report is the promotion and protection of human rights as they pertain to older persons in the context of the implementation of international legal and policy instruments as well as national action.

 

Charters

 

• Charter of Rights for People in Need of Long Term Care and Assistance (national charter, Germany)

This national charter was published by the the German Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth and the German Federal Ministry of Health in 2007.

• Charte des droits et libertés de la personne âgée en situation de handicap ou de dépendance

First produced by the Fondation Nationale de Gérontologie, as the ’Charte des droits et libertés de la personne âgée dépendante’ in 1997, this charter was revised in 2007.

• EURAG Charter for the Elderly - Declaration of the rights and responsibilities of older persons

Charter produced by EURAG, the European Federation of Older Persons, in 2005

• Charte Alzheimer – Éthique & Société

L’ Espace Ethique est un groupe de réflexion constitué au sein du réseau hospitalier « Assistance Publique –Hôpitaux de PARIS », la plus grande structure hospitalière publique en France.

• European Charter of the Rights and Freedoms of Older People Accomodated in Homes

Commitments of managers of homes for older people, gathered within the E.D.E., to care, support and respect older people in care homes

• Curaviva Charter : Charter of civil society on the dignified treatment of the elderly

Charter developed in may 2010 ; an  explaining guide is being developed at the moment.

• Universal Declaration of Human Rights

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted and proclaimed by the General Assembly of the United Nations on December 10th 1948.

• EU Charter of fundamental Rights

The European Union Charter of Fundamental Rights sets out in a single text, for the first time in the European Union's history, the whole range of civil, political, economic and social rights of European citizens and all persons resident in the EU.
