 AGE Funding sources 2010

As in previous years, AGE’s main activities in 2010 were financed partly by membership fees and donations (17%) and partly by a grant from the European Community Programme for Employment and Social Solidarity (PROGRESS) managed by DG Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities (83%).

In addition to this core funding, AGE received:

- A grant from DAPHNE III Programme for the project “European Strategy to combat Elder Abuse against Older Women”. The project is funded at 79,68% by the EC (DG Justice, Freedom and Security) and the co-funding was provided by the followings co-partners: 50+ Hellas (Greece), ANBO (NL), BIVA (Germany), Commune de St Josse (Belgium), EDE (EU), FIPAC (Italy), Fondation Nationale de Gérontologie (France), Fundacio Viure I Conviure (Spain), Mestna Zveza Upokojencev (MZU – Slovenia), NIACE (UK), Swedish Association of Senior Citizens (Sweden) and ZIVOT 90 (Czech Republic) and;

- A grant for the project “INCLUSage promotion of older people’s social inclusion through national and local public debates”. The project is funded at 79,77 % by the EC (DG Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities) and the co-funding was provided by the followings co-partners: ANCESCAO (Italy), Association of Swedish-Speaking Pensioners (Finland), BAGSO (Germany), Forum 50+ (Poland), Fundacja Ja Kobieta (Poland), Forum Pre pomoc Starsim (Slovak Republic), Hospice Miloserdie Charitable Organisation (Bulgaria), Irish Senior Citizens’ Parliament (Ireland), Landesvereinigung für Gesundheit Niedersachsen (Germany), Tulip Foundation (Bulgaria) and Zivot 90 (Czech Republic).

Both projects were for a period of two years: November/December 2008 – November/December 2010.

AGE has continued its work on European Research Projects throughout 2010, besides being involved in new proposals.

AGE was indeed partner of 10 projects dedicated to the well-being of older people when dealing with new technologies, health, accessibility and sustainable mobility. Those projects, financed mainly by DG INFSO and Dg RTD, are AALiance (closed in March 2010), Aeneas, Dreaming, Oasis, Mediate and Demhow (closed in November 2010), FuturAge, Veritas, and Home Sweet Home (started in 2010).

Moreover, AGE joined 2 thematic networks, e-Access+ (started in September) and ATIS4All (running from January 2011), always financed by the European Commission.

More information on AGE funding sources in previous years can be found in our Annual Reports.
